Vocation and Sports Specialization Programs
This 16 week certificate awarding program delivers vocational and sports specialization training to students who have graduated from high school or its equivalent. The in-person career and technical education component delivers foundational skills required to become a licensed professional in a trade of the students’ choice. The in-person sports specialization component offers a curriculum designed to provide students with an in-depth experience related to a sport of their choice; including sport and fitness training, fundamental skill development, and higher-level game preparation techniques. Completion of this program will prepare students to become licensed professionals and acquire national certification in their field (if applicable), increase students’ prospects for employment, and improve students’ chances of participation in collegiate level sports programs.
Courses
Personal Training
This 16 week certificate awarding course provides students with the educational background required to pursue a career in health and fitness. Students will attain foundational skills required to assess human body mechanics; learn how to develop and implement training exercise programs designed to maintain or improve health related aspects of performance and fitness. Completion of this course grants a personal training license and certification.
Football Specialization
This 16 week certificate awarding course provides students with an in-depth experience of football training, fundamental skill development, and higher-level game preparation techniques. Students will improve in various aspects of the game, receive instruction from former college and professional football athletes; while competing against opponents at the collegiate level. Completion of this course increases opportunities for students to further participate in collegiate level football programs based on the advanced level of instruction received.
